FLOTEC EXCELS IN EXTERNAL AUDIT BY MAJOR OEM.
In August, Flotec’s very own Sophie Wright and Richard Hodgkinson participated in an external audit conducted by a major OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customer.
The Audit.
With quality and safety being of the utmost importance to OEMs, it is imperative that suppliers comply with the exacting standards expected of them.
Heading up the company’s ISO 9001 endeavours for quality standards, Sophie collaborated with Business Development Director Richard, whereby, the duo got busy preparing for what was inevitably going to be, a major audit.
On Thursday 29th August, the clients Principal Quality Systems Engineer was welcomed to Flotec’s premises, and a rigorous inspection ensued.
Flotec was inspected and graded upon the following criteria:

Cost
Delivery Performance
Customer Supplier Management
Design and Development

Management Culture (Vision, Mission, Financial Stability, Customer Focus, Statutory Regulations)
Training, Quality and Management Culture
Having been set a target of 70%, Flotec far exceeded this and was successful in returning a final score of 83.3%.
Speaking of Flotec, its people and capabilities, the external inspector said; “Flotec’s controls around material are exemplary with storage and identification of product being excellent.
They utilise their people and knowledge incredibly well. An exceptional internal audit system is in place. The controls around the production process are impressive with sign off procedures taking place at all stages.”
About the audit, Sophie summarises; “As an ethical and responsible business, Flotec takes its commitment to quality, safety and customer service very seriously indeed.
As such, it feels incredibly rewarding and poignant to achieve such a high score, especially after undergoing what has been, an intensive and highly detailed inspection by one of our major clients.”
Richard, concludes; “Customer service and product quality is always of paramount importance and so, to be rewarded with such an impressive grade is testament to Flotec, its people and company ethos.”
